What claims do passengers have in the event of delays and cancellations?

In the event of a cancellation or departure delay of more than 90 minutes, passengers can assert the following claims:

  • Snacks and drinks as well as free accommodation if necessary and feasible. The cost of accommodation can be limited to EUR 80 per passenger per night for a maximum of three nights - this also applies to cruises.

  • Alternative transportation or reimbursement of the fare and, if applicable, free return journey to the place of departure.

  • You are also entitled to compensation of at least 25 percent and a maximum of 50 percent of the fare if there is a delay of a certain duration:
