Online tickets cannot be printed out at ticket machines
from Jürgen Vogl
The passenger booked her tickets for the journey from Innsbruck to Vienna and back online and decided to collect the tickets from the ticket machine. However, when she tried to print out the tickets, she only received the tickets for the outward journey, but not those for the return journey. After contacting the hotline, she was advised to buy new tickets for the return journey and have the tickets that could not be printed refunded. However, as the rail company subsequently only wanted to refund the money for the tickets in the form of vouchers, as no irregularities could be detected at the machine, the passenger turned to the apf to assert her rights.
The apf was able to mediate positively between the railroad companies and the complainant and obtain the transfer of the money for the tickets.
If something like this happens to you, the apf recommends the following:[nbsp]
- Always have the company's recommendations confirmed in writing.
- If you buy tickets without a name, we recommend that you have them personalized by an employee of the company. This can be helpful in the event of a problem.
- If possible, document problems at the vending machine (e.g. by taking a photo with your cell phone, witnesses, etc.).
