Online purchase of a VORTEILSCARD
from Jürgen Vogl
The passenger filled out the form for ordering the VORTEILCARD on the rail company's website . When he tried to send the form, he received an error message, whereupon he contacted customer service on 05-1717. They advised him to wait a little and make the booking again, which he did. After another error message and another phone call to customer service, the customer was advised to buy the VORTEILSCARD at the ticket counter as the error could not be identified.
In the end, the passenger was in possession of three VORTEILSCARDS. The one he had bought at the ticket counter and the two that were sent to him by the railroad company a few days later, despite an error message in the online portal. As a result, he first wrote to the rail company and then, after receiving no response for eight weeks, contacted the Agentur für Passagier- und Fahrgastechte. The apf successfully mediated between the rail company and the person concerned and managed to have the two unused VORTEILSCARDS canceled and the money transferred to his account.
Recommendations from apf if you also buy a VORTEILSCARD via the Internet:
- If you receive an error message, wait and see whether you receive an e-mail confirming the purchase of the VORTEILSCARD.
- If you receive an error message, make a note of the error code that is displayed.
- After incorrect bookings, check whether the amount has been debited from the account you specified.
