Information from the NIKI insolvency administrator regarding ticket refunds

The press release published by the insolvency administrator on December 14, 2017 provides the following information:
"...14.12.2017 | Almost all passengers who have booked flights with the insolvent airline NIKI will receive a refund or be rebooked. This has just been announced by the provisional insolvency administrator of "NIKI Luftfahrt GmbH", Prof. Dr. Lucas F. Flöther.
According to the current status, around 410,000 NIKI flight tickets were issued before the airline filed for insolvency yesterday, which have not yet been flown. Of these, around 210,000 tickets were booked via tour operators. These tickets will be automatically rebooked by the respective tour operators. Flöther asks these passengers to contact their tour operator for further coordination, as the tour operator is responsible for their transportation.
Holders of the 200,000 tickets purchased directly from NIKI - provided they purchased their tickets after Air Berlin filed for insolvency in mid-August 2017 - are expected to receive a full refund of the travel price. This applies to all these tickets with a travel period until the end of October 2018...."
