Train: Lost discount card
from Jürgen Vogl
After receiving the ÖSTERREICHCARD, the passenger submitted all the tickets he had purchased at the normal price in order to be reimbursed the difference in the total amount of 489 euros. As not all tickets had been personalized and it was therefore not possible to trace whether the tickets submitted could be assigned to the owner of the ÖSTERREICHCARD, the rail company offered vouchers worth 106 euros. As the passenger was not satisfied with this response, he contacted Agency for Passenger Rights. apf mediated positively between the railroad company and the complainant and succeeded in having 300 euros transferred to the passenger's account.
Tips from the apf:
- Have the agreement regarding the procedure confirmed in writing by the railroad company.
- If, for example, you have forgotten a personal ticket and subsequently want a refund for an additionally purchased ticket, insist that the train attendant personalize your ticket.
